The print matrix, in this case, pieces of plywood are the subject matter for this series of relief prints.
One piece of plywood was used to create the 49 prints that make up the teh series. The images document the distruction of the block.
The printing the void pieces are created from a 2'x4' piece of 1/4 inch plywood that was broken into two pieces and printed repeatedly in slightly different impositions.
The act of damaging and destroying the matrix and the process of documenting that action with the relief prints is evidence of the importance and lasting power of the printed image.
